John Beilein Said Losing Trey Burke and Tim Hardaway “Only Made Me Want To Recruit More”

Dave Daniels- Rant Sports

John Beilein has had a roller coaster of an offseason after losing in the NCAA championship game; once he went away for a bit though things had shaken out a bit more.

“And then I came back and Tim said he was ready,” Beilein said. “All four of the major decisions were back-to-back. All of them made educated decisions, and they’re doing it for the right reasons.”

Recruiting is actually a part of the process that Beilein enjoys, so he is looking forward to the rebuilding part of it.

“I really enjoy that part of it,” Beilein said. “I’ve come to the realization that if you get good players and good teammates that have a great passion for the game, you can really achieve a lot more success than we’ve ever had.”

Beilein also had a difficult offseason as far as his former players leaving for the draft. Losing high level talent like that only makes Beilein’s recruiting work even more hard.

“There wasn’t one day I went out there that I said, ‘Oh, I’ve got to recruit today.’ I want to continue to build this program and look for the next Trey Burke and Tim Hardaway. It only made me want to recruit even more.”

Good luck finding the next Trey Burke; think he is one of a kind, but best of luck to Beilein in his future recruiting.
