Will Dwayne Bowe Be With the Kansas City Chiefs in 2013?

While their two-win season may take the cake on the list of biggest disappointments, it’s safe to say the Kansas City Chiefs wished they could have seen more production from wide receiver Dwayne Bowe–who is scheduled to be a free agent this offseason. Bowe has spent the first six seasons of his career playing in Kansas City and even though the team is expected to bounce back in 2013 with new head coach Andy Reid on the sidelines, there’s still a chance the team will have to adjust to life without their star wideout.

There’s no telling what to expect from the Chiefs and their quarterback position next season considering Matt Cassel proved to be anything but effective. Not to mention nobody knows what to expect from the organization with the No. 1 pick considering Kansas City will have numerous options and could even take a shot at a rookie quarterback–whether it comes in the first or second round.

When healthy, Bowe has proven to be one of the top wide receivers at times in the league and arguably had his best season in 2010 when he caught 72 passes for 1,162 yards and 15 touchdowns. Any team in the league would be lucky to land a wide receiver as talented as Bowe, but if the Chiefs were smart, they should do whatever it takes to keep him around for the 2013 season.

Plus, if Bowe does end up fleeing Kansas City–that will just add to the list of areas in need of improvement for the Chiefs during the offseason.
