Alex Anzalone Decommits from Notre Dame

Notre Dame was the hottest team in college football until they lost to Alabama–and lost linebacker Alex Anzalone. Anzalone has decommitted from the Irish and decided to enroll at Florida.

Mike Farrell, Rivals rep, posted this tweet today: “Alex Anzalone will enroll at #Florida tomorrow, he is decommitted from #NotreDame due to the Brian Kelly interview w Eagles”.

This isn’t the first time the 6’3″, 231 lb. star changed his mind on schools. Anzalone committed to Ohio State last April, but had a change of heart due to concerns that a convicted sex offender had interactions with players and recruits.

Many fans were upset with Azalone’s decision on Twitter, but most weren’t as angry as Notre Dame recruit Malik Zaire Shifu Z.

“Man what the hell Alex that was low. 2 days before you report u go somewhere else? Its all good well see you down the road,” Zaire Shifu Z said on Twitter.

James Onwualu, Notre Dame recruit, expressed similar feelings on Twitter and hopes Anzalone has fun at Florida.

“Have fun at Florida bro…..Glad I’m more mature then some people! Sticking by my dudes @Mheuerman9 @DevinButler_7 and the rest of the mob,” he tweeted.

Although Zaire Shifu Z and Onwualu were angry and disappointed in Anzalone, some Notre Dame recruits wished Anzalone the best.

“Best of luck to my bro @AlexAnzalone_24. Sad to see you leave the #Mob but hope you do great things at Florida,” Corey Robinson said.

I feel Anzalone made a bad decision in decommitting from the Irish. They have a great program and just came up short in the BCS championship. Notre Dame is going to be one of the top teams again next year and Anzalone is going to miss out.
