The news which all Tottenham fans have been sweating over–the fitness of the golden boy Gareth Bale–will lighten up their spirit for the weekend clash with champions Manchester City.
Whether it was the controversial blood-spinning or Bale’s sheer desire to be fit for his team when they desperately need him. And Tottenham need their Welsh machine in top form to overcome a strong and committed Manchester City side, who look set to lose their title to local rivals Manchester United.
Bale has played an integral role for Tottenham on all fronts. Not only his goals and assists, but the timing of his strikes have been invaluable to his team. It’s been a long time since the Lilywhites have had a player as special as this guy.
Tottenham will need to be really up for the game this weekend. Even though City could be without key players David Silva and Sergio Aguero for the clash, Tottenham face a war to take the points on Sunday.
City have been somewhat disappointing this season. Aguero and Silva in particular, and perhaps Yaya Toure, haven’t lived up to the dizzying heights of last season when they secured their first title of the Premier League era.
City’s defense remains strong. Vincent Kompany, again, not the elegant wrecking machine he was last year, leads his side well, and they defend effectively most of the time. They have shipped soft goals, which they can’t afford to do this weekend.
I’m predicting a score draw on Sunday. But with players like Gareth Bale, Sergio Aguero, David Silva and others on show, any game could change with a swing of the boot. It will be an excellent game.
