Here’s a look at the top five 2012 Heisman Candidates Week 10:
5. Alabama Crimson Tide Quarterback AJ McCarron
The Alabama quarterback continues to climb this list as he’s helped the Crimson Tide average over 40 points per game this season and win each game by at least 19 points. Not to mention his 18 touchdowns to zero interceptions is an impressive statistic.
4. Ohio State Buckeyes Quarterback Braxton Miller
Once again, Miller did most of the work with his legs last weekend as he rushed for 134 yards and two touchdowns while completing 7 of 19 passes for 143 yards and one touchdown against the Penn State Nittany Lions. Expect big numbers from Miller again on Saturday as Ohio State squares off against the 2-6 Illinois Fighting Illini.
3. Oregon Ducks Running Back Kenjon Barner
One of the main reasons why the Ducks are averaging more than 53 points this season is because of Barner–who has 15 total touchdowns on the season. With a key matchup against the USC Trojans on Saturday, Oregon hopes for another strong performance from Barner after he recorded 151 yards from the line of scrimmage and two touchdowns last weekend.
2. Notre Dame Fighting Irish Linebacker Manti Te’o
Another week, another strong performance by Te’o and the Irish defense as they pulled off a big road win over the Oklahoma Sooners last weekend. Te’o led the way for the defense by recording 11 tackles and a key interception towards the end of the game to seal the win for Notre Dame.
1. Kansas State Wildcats Quarterback Collin Klein
At this point, the Heisman is Klein’s to lose as he continues to shine week after week. Not only did Klein complete 19 of 26 passes for 233 yards and two touchdowns last weekend against the Texas Tech Red Raiders, but he also recorded two touchdowns on the ground to go along with 83 rushing yards.
