Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers to Guest Star on ‘The Office’ as Talent Judge

(Mark J. Rebilas/USA Today Sports)

When it comes to acting, Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has already seen plenty of success with his “Discount Double Check” commercials with State Farm, but it appears he’s taking his acting skills to a whole new level by making an appearance in Thursday’s episode of the hit NBC show The Office.

That’s right, Rodgers will be guest starring on Thursday’s episode as a judge on a show called “America’s Next A Capella Sensation”–which obviously sounds like a spinoff of the famous American Idol. Based on the way the show has been going this season, there’s a good chance that Andy Bernard (played by Ed Helms) will be auditioning for the contest considering he’s shown off his singing skills in the past and has been pursuing his acting career over the last couple of years.

Over the years, The Office has been lucky enough to land numerous athletes (Julius Erving made an appearance earlier this season) as guest stars and with the type of personality he has–it’s safe to say fans should be excited to see what Rodgers brings to the acting table. It would be one thing if NBC was bringing him on to play himself, but the fact that they’re giving him a completely different character to play should be quite hilarious to watch.

There’s only two episodes of The Office left as the hit show will be coming to an end after nine amazing seasons and hopefully Rodgers is just one of many surprises (PLEASE bring back Michael Scott for the finale) NBC has in store for the final two weeks.
