Fantasy Football Playoff Challenge: Matt Ryan Will Throw 3 TDs

Tim Fuller-USA TODAY Sports

This Sunday the Atlanta Falcons host the Seattle Seahawks in the Divisional Round of the NFL playoffs.  Although the Seahawks are red hot, there are simply too many factors against them to pull out the upset.

Atlanta will be playing at home, which always is advantageous, but especially since the dirtybirds are 7-1 at home this season.  Additionally Seattle was 3-5 on the road this year, which does not bode well for a team heading to the loud confines of the Georgia Dome.

Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan is coming off his best season as a pro this year.  Ryan threw 4,719 yards this season along with 32 touchdowns, both of which are well above his former career highs.  Ryan had his best fantasy season to date and will be looking to pick up right where he left off in the postseason.

Regardless of what most people will admit, the Seahawks were getting beat last weekend before Robert Griffin III’s leg started to literally fall apart. Seattle’s amazing secondary looked somewhat human, so expect them to struggle against the Falcons dynamic duo on the outside of Roddy White and Julio Jones.  Seattle may have a great secondary, but Atlanta has elite receiving options all around the field.

Look for Ryan to finally put all his postseason doubters to rest and have a monster game against the Seahawks this weekend.  He has amazingly had seven games in which he threw three touchdowns or more, so this weekend should be no exception.  “Matty Ice” will easily throw three touchdowns this weekend and will carry fantasy owners to the NFC Championship and yet another round of fantasy production.
