After recovering from a horrendous start on Saturday, and starting the final round of the Volvo Golf Championships at the Durban Country Club five strokes back, Louis Oosthuizen flexed his muscle on Sunday, and fired a -6 under par 66 to secure his sixth win on the European Tour.

The 2010 Open Champion got it started on the second hole with a couple of birdies, and made the turn at 32, and the lead. He picked up three more birdies on the back nine before a small stumble at the 16th hole. Oosthuizen finished par par for the win with a four day total of -16 under par.

The weather finally decided to cooperate in Durban, South Africa, but it couldn’t help third round leader, Scott Jamieson who picked the wrong day to have a poor performance. After birdies at the third, and fourth holes, Jamieson carded a double bogey 6 at the fifth hole from which he never recovered. He made a lot of pars before another bogey at 16th hole but got one back at 18. Jamieson had a chance on the 18th hole to chip in for the tie, but missed by inches to force a playoff.  It was one stroke short of the leader. He carded an even par 72, and ended his day just as he had started, with a -15 under par total.

With the win, and 350,000 Euro winner’s share of the purse, Oosthuizen jumps into second place in Race To Dubai points. Jamieson retains his lead by almost 70,000 Euro.

First round leader Tongchai Jaidee finished his day two strokes back at -14 under par with a four under par 68 on Sunday, Jaidee had a nice round, and was -5 under for the day before he made bogey at the par 3 15th hole. He made par on the final three holes to finish alone in third place.

Padraig Harrington fired a -4 under par 68 to get his season started with a solid fourth place finish at Royal Durban. The three time major champion had a pretty mundane front nine, and after a bogey at the 7th hole, put a nice run together down the stretch with five birdies on the back, including one at the final hole. The finish puts him in sixth place on the Race To Dubai standings.

Defending champion, Branden Grace had a very nice final round, and finished his tournament in a tie for 7th place at -10 under par. He fired a -5 under 67 on Sunday, but couldn’t overcome the horrible round on Thursday when he shot 75. He ends this part of the 2013 schedule in 10th place on the Race To Dubai list.
