Recruiting Heating Up For Three Star Forward Kelan Martin

Richard Rowe-USA TODAY Sports

Three-star forward Kelan Martin was one of the most productive players all weekend at the IndyBall.com Shootout. He led his Indiana Elite team to the championship game and showed an impressive all around game; this comes after a year in which he helped his high school team win state as well.

“I think I played pretty well this year,” Martin told Scout.com. “It was a breakout year for me winning a state championship and just improving. I worked hard on my inside game especially in high school. Now I am comfortable inside and outside.”

Some lower end division one schools has taken notice of his game and it is clear that all the work he has put into his game is finally paying off.

“Western Kentucky, Indiana State, and Ohio University said they would be watching me in April,” said Martin. “I have scholarship offers from Ohio University, Western Kentucky, Indiana State, and IUPUI.”

His college decision will be based on fit within the offense as well as potential playing time, but you can bet that Martin will get a shot somewhere. He has proven that he has the work ethic to succeed and it will only be a matter of where it is.

“I look for how a school runs their offense and defense,” said Martin. “Also I want a place where I know I will be able to play and compete for minutes.”
