Whitney Young Features Two Elite Big Men Next Season in Jahlil Okafor and Paul White

Jahlil Okafor

Guy Rhodes-USA TODAY Sports

Whitney Young (Chicago, IL) has a wealth of talented big men at their disposal next season, and it should make for an exciting year on the national level. Top ranked 2014 center Jahlil Okafor certainly tops the list and could be up for national player of the year, but Georgetown Hoyas commit Paul White is no slouch either. Shout out to WY’s basketball twitter feed for the article below as well; one day will get them to follow me!

Big men who have played opposite Okafor in the past have remarked how much easier the game comes to them, and it should be no different with White next season. Don’t get me wrong the Hoyas are getting a great player, and they are certainly one of the best programs in the country for developing big men. You only have to look at their history to know their pedigree for developing young talent. Especially young big men.

Okafor is a package recruiting deal with top ranked 2014 point guard Tyus Jones and we should see them come to a recruiting decision by early November. They have two visits between now and then though, so just know that the tables can turn quite quickly and one quality recruiting trip can tilt the deck one way or the other. We will just have to see where the cards fall.

Watch HS Hoops Coach Headbutt Referee

There is absolutely no excuse for this to happen ever. During an argument about a call, Neshaminy (Pa.) high school basketball coach Jerry Devine decided it would be a good idea to headbutt the referee to prove his point. Devine was then ejected from the gym and could now face criminal charges for his actions as well as losing his teaching and coaching job.
