The Colorado Rapids were already stretched thin before Deshorn Brown’s injury was announced. According to Mlssoccer.com, Brown has a thigh injury and will be about one to two weeks. In his absence, Colorado will lose even more depth and they did not have much to begin with.

Brown is the leading scorer with two goals, and has impressed as a rookie. This isn’t very surprising thought, as Brown was successful while playing for Reading United AC last season. Colorado is on a two game winning streak and Brown played a major role.

Most of the shots this season have come from the rookie. He has 28 shots-on-goal and two goals in seven games this season. If Colorado gets three points against the Seattle Sounders and continue their winning streak, then players like Danny MwangaKamani Hill, or Tony Cascio will have to take on Brown’s role.

Brown’s thigh injury is going to hurt the Rapids. They lose their leading goal-scorer for one or two weeks and started their season off slow and seemed to find ways to win. Now, Brown’s injury might have their season heading downhill temporary.

The season is still young, and if Brown’s thigh injury is only minor and doesn’t become a major nuisance, then Colorado should be able to survive for a few weeks. Colorado will have to stretch even more to another thin roster and find a way to earn points.
