Dwight Howard Should Just Go Away

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

To say Los Angeles Lakers center Dwight Howard is a “diva” is a drastic understatement. Folks talk about Miami Heat superstar forward LeBron James being a “villain,” but at least his decision to leave the Cleveland Cavaliers was made and then he went to Miami and did what he said he was going to do. Howard went from being arguably the most likable player in the NBA to the most annoying and that includes guys like Kobe Bryant, Carmelo Anthony and Paul Pierce.

Howard was a superstar when he was with the Orlando Magic. He was a perennial All-Star, a Defensive Player of the Year (seemingly every year) a goofball and the face of a franchise in one of the most desirable places to live in the United States. What’s his problem?

He strung the Magic along saying he would re-sign, then saying he wouldn’t, the he would again and then he wouldn’t again until finally a deal was struck to send him to LA. The Magic were so glad to be rid of him and it seemed he would finally be happy.

Now he can’t do anything with the Lakers, either, and he’s “unhappy” in LA as well. Look, just because the Lakers aren’t the perennial powerhouse they usually are doesn’t mean he can just skip town there again. He’ll end up playing for five teams in three years and not win anything, which would be comical to a lot of basketball fans who are sick of Howard by this point.

Dwight, a little message for you: get all the bees out of your bun or just go away. Thanks, basketball fans everywhere.
