The University of Miami mens hockey team won back to back games against Florida Atlantic University on Friday and Saturday night.

Friday at the Kendall Ice Arena the Hurricanes lead by Eli Davis (2g 2a), Paul Nardone (2g 1a) and Patrick Rodgers (2g 1a) beat the visiting FAU Owls by a final score of 12-2. After trailing 2-0 early in the game UM scored 3 quick goals towards the end of the 1st period and headed to the locker room with the lead. The second and third periods were a much cleaner game by the team as they seemed to take total control and didn’t look back from there. Brendan Schnetzer also recorded his first goal as a Hurricane in the teams win.

On Saturday the Hurricanes traveled to the Saveology.com Iceplex in Coral Springs to take on the Owls once again. The game would start with both teams tied 0-0 for most of the first, but UM would capitalize late in the period finishing with 2 goals heading to the locker room. In the second UM would take control of the game once again scoring 3 more times before the end of the period. In the third the teams would exchange goals, including a hat trick goal by UM forward Paul Nardone.

UM improved to 4-0 on the season (21-0 in the teams 2 year history) and have scored a total of 45 goals in it’s first 4 games of the season. Their next game will be Friday October 12th at 8:30PM at Kendall Ice Arena as they take on the Florida Jr. Blades in a non-league game. The team then travels to Germain arena to take on the Jr. Blades once again the following day (October 13th) at 2:00PM.
