Rant and Rise: Falcons Beat Broncos, Shaun White Arrested, LeSean McCoy’s Fantasy Football Controversy

Here’s the latest edition of Rant and Rise for September 18, 2012.

Atlanta Falcons Beat Denver Broncos On Monday Night Football

There was no better way to end Week 2 of the 2012 NFL season as the Falcons pulled off an impressive 27-21 win over the Broncos on Monday Night Football. Roddy White led the way for the Falcons with eight catches for 102 yards and one touchdown, but the main headline from this game was Peyton Manning and his early struggles.

The future Hall of Fame quarterback threw three interceptions before the first quarter even came to an end–which is something the NFL isn’t used to seeing from Manning.

Shaun White Could Face Charges of Public Intoxication and Vadalism

It was a rough weekend for the gold medalist as White was causing havoc in a Nashville hotel after he apparently pulled a fire alarm that forced all the patrons to evacuate. What’s even worse–White tried to escape in a cab when police showed up, but a hotel guest was able to prevent him from leaving before he could.

White’s court date is scheduled for October 10.

LeSean McCoy Claims Ref Had Him On Fantasy Football Team

McCoy finished with 81 rushing yards and one touchdown on Sunday as the Philadelphia Eagles went on to beat the Baltimore Ravens, but it was McCoy’s comments about one of the replacement refs from the game that could cause even more controversy heading into Week 3. The running back claims that one of the officials told him that he needed McCoy for his fantasy team–which could be seen as a huge conflict of interest.
