Daily Rant: How Carrie Underwood Feels About the NHL Lockout

The NHL and the players union are scheduled to resume talks on Friday as both sides look to make progress on a new Collective Bargaining Agreement to put an end to the NHL Lockout that has taken place over the last couple of weeks. While the possible delay of the 2012-13 regular season has been nothing but frustrating for hockey fans, there is one popular individual who wouldn’t mind if the lockout lasted a little longer–Carrie Underwood.

The popular country star is married to  Nashville Predators center Mike Fisher and during a recent interview, Underwood stated that she was a “little happy” about the lockout–saying how great it was for her since she gets to spend more time with her husband. With the current lockout, Underwood doesn’t have to worry about her husband being on the road as much for away games and he gets to be around more while training in case the season does happen–so it’s no surprise to hear about how happy she is.

Underwood may be happy, but she may have lost a few fans in the hockey department during the process considering how frustrating this process has been for the rest of us. The ironic thing about these comments by Underwood is she’s currently on tour–so it’s not like she’s been around much lately to begin with.

Hopefully, Friday’s talks go well and they can make progress on a new deal so we don’t have to worry about the possibility of another lockout ruining the regular season.
