Eric Winston Goes On Rant After Chiefs Fans Cheer Matt Cassel Injury

Eric Winston is not happy with the fans of the Kansas City Chiefs.  On Sunday, much maligned quarterback Matt Cassel had to leave the game with a head injury.  The fans started to cheer the injury which sent Winston on his rant.  He was not happy with fans who were cheering for an injury.

Winston makes a lot of good points in this rant.  Remember folks, football is just a game.  It is not a bloodsport and fans should not be out there cheering for injuries.  I mean, Cassel is bad at football, but there is no need to be cheering him getting knocked out of the game.  Concussions are extremely dangerous so cheering blows to the heads is not a smart thing.

Some fans will get mad about this but Winston is totally right on this.  Fans do pay a lot of money to watch games and they do have the right to cheer and boo.  However, there is a line that is crossed when you start cheering for injuries to players.  Boo a guy all you want, but wishing bodily harm on him is not exactly a cool move.

The players out there are giving all they can to be a success.  Sometimes they just are not good enough to do the job that the fans think they should.  We will see if Cassel is out for long.  Luckily for him, he knows he has one lineman that will have his back.

The fans will start a backlash but I do not think Winston backs down.  Good for him.
