Some fans have already deemed the Seattle Seahawks as ‘Super Bowl favorites’ for the upcoming season. This is based mainly on the team’s numerous offseason additions, that seem to have the franchise in its best place ever. The road to the Lombardi trophy, certainly isn’t easy, and the Seahawks have to know that after looking at their regular season schedule.
Here is Seattle’s 2013 slate of games:
Week 1 – @ Carolina Panthers
Week 2 – San Francisco 49ers (SNF)
Week 3 – Jacksonville Jaguars
Week 4 – @ Houston Texans
Week 5 – @ Indianapolis Colts
Week 6 – Tennessee Titans
Week 7 – @ Arizona Cardinals (TNF)
Week 8 – @ St. Louis Rams (MNF)
Week 9 – Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Week 10 – @ Atlanta Falcons
Week 11 – Minnesota Vikings
Week 12 – BYE
Week 13 – New Orleans Saints (MNF)
Week 14 – @ San Francisco 49ers
Week 15 – @ New York Giants
Week 16 – Arizona Cardinals
Week 17 – St. Louis Rams
This is one of the most difficult schedules in the league, and it gets going right from the start. Seattle will head into a hostile environment in week one against Carolina, then back across the country to host the rival 49ers. Week three represents the most winnable game for the Seahawks, as they face Jacksonville, but then it’s back to the grind facing two of the top teams in the AFC, on the road.
Seattle will have to grind all the way until week 12, when their bye week finally rolls around. Then the season somewhat winds down, with a few winnable games, but none that will come easy. All in all, the Seahawks face a brutal slate of opponents in 2013.
