Jake Peavy is Pitching as Good as Ever for Chicago White Sox

Sometimes a Major League Baseball team has all of the talent and tools they need but just don’t click. They are still as good as they ever were; it’s just a struggle sometimes. This is one of those times for the Chicago White Sox. Yet in the midst of the not so dominating times often the real leaders of the team rise. Such is the case for White Sox veteran starter Jake Peavy.

Peavy is having another great season. His 2 – 1 record could be better with run support and if he had a few pitches back against the Washington Nationals. Overall an ERA of 3.20 and a 1.14 WHIP is extremely good. Once again on Saturday he pitched extremely well and gave his team a great chance to win. Unfortunately the Sox bats were still quiet and couldn’t get the job done. Peavy wound up with a hard luck no-decision.

I think that the White Sox will be okay as the year progresses and men like Peavy are the reason why. He has no fear in taking charge and putting the team as much on his back as he can. Whether or not he intends to do such things, his actions on the mound speak plenty loud enough. Peavy has been around long enough to know that sometimes you get a hard luck loss or no-decision. The fact that next time out he will give the Sox their next sure chance at a solid win is what made him an ace starter for so long and what makes him one now.
