Cary Edmondson-USA TODAY Sports

The Sacramento Kings snapped their 4-game losing streak with a 124-118 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Monday night. With both teams struggling on defense as of late, it’s no surprise that there was almost 250 total points scored in this game. The Kings winning effort was led by DeMarcus Cousins. The troubled center [...]

Fantasy Basketball Stud Performance: Kevin Durant Scores 41

Jennifer Stewart-USA TODAY Sport

The Oklahoma City Thunder became the NBA’s first 30-win team after beating the Phoenix Suns 102-90 on Monday night. The Thunder were short-handed again, with Serge Ibaka out while he nurses a chest contusion, but that didn’t stop Kevin Durant from going off. Durant had 14 points at halftime, while Russell Westbrook led the team with [...]

Fantasy Basketball Stud Performance: Carlos Boozer

Anthony Gruppuso-USA TODAY Sports

The Chicago Bulls usually bounce back after a loss, but nobody saw  the defensive beat down they delivered to the Atlanta Hawks coming. And when I say beat down, I’m being generous. The Bulls straight up embarrassed the Hawks tonight at the United Center. After 2 quarters, the Bulls led the Hawks 48-20, and no that is not [...]

Fantasy Basketball Stud Performance: Rajon Rondo

Kevin Liles-USA TODAY Sports

The Boston Celtics continued their hot streak, winning their 6th-straight game by defeating the Charlotte Bobcats 100-89 on Monday night. As usual, the Celtics were led by their superstar point guard, Rajon Rondo, who recorded his 26th career triple-double and third of the season. Rondo gave Bobcats guard Kemba Walker problems all night, and finished [...]

Fantasy Basketball Stud Performance: Jameer Nelson

Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

The Washington Wizards may have the worst record in the NBA, but they can be considered a “hot” team as of late, winning three in a row after demolishing the Orlando Magic 120-91. The Magic were looking forward to playing the Wizards tonight, as their roster is finally getting healthy with the return of Glen Davis and [...]

Fantasy Basketball Stud Performance: DeMarcus Cousins

Eric P. Mull-USA TODAY Sports

The Sacramento Kings, led by Cousins throughout the night, defeated the Toronto Raptors 105-96. Cousins had a very impressive game, scoring 31 points on 11-18 shooting. Fantasy Basketball Stud Performance: Jameer Nelson

Tom Szczerbowski-USA TODAY Sports

After missing two games with a hip injury, Jameer Nelson returned to the starting lineup for the Orlando Magic on Wednesday night. He provided some much needed offense for a struggling Magic team, but it was not enough, as Orlando has now lost seven straight games and are now 12-20 on the season. The Magic [...]

Fantasy Basketball Stud Performance: Jrue Holiday

Howard Smith-USA TODAY Sports

There were plenty of standout fantasy basketball performances in the NBA on Wednesday night. One performance in particular, was that of Philadelphia 76ers PG Jrue Holiday, who posted a triple-double against the Phoenix Suns. The 76ers were on the wrong side of the scoreboard, losing 95-89, but Holiday continued his solid play by posting a stat [...]

Who Made Santa's Naughty List?

Santa
John David Mercer-USA TODAY Sports

We are nearing the end of the 2012 fantasy football season as this is usually championship week for the majority of leagues. And if all goes well, and 12-21-12 is nothing more than a myth, we should see another Christmas! Taking a look at the 2012 season, there are a handful of players that are Santa’s naughty list because of how poorly they played this year. If a few of these players are on your roster, there is a good chance you struggled at times and possibly already eliminated.

This list is mixed from quarterbacks to tight ends, but each and every player on this list was more than likely drafted in the early rounds of your league's drafts, but have not produced the way most anticipated. I tried to avoid putting those who suffered season-ending injuries on the list, but there are some who still played at least half of the season and did next to nothing for their fantasy owners. So what's fair is fair, being santa isn't an easy job but somebody has to do it.

Hopefully, you avoided most of these players somehow, but I know all of us get affected in one way or another by injuries and players who did not live up to their potential. Here is my list of the 20 players who are on Santa’s naughty list for fantasy football in 2012. Happy holidays to everyone and their families, I hope you enjoyed my ranting and raving this fantasy football season.

2 of 21

20. RB Matt Forte, Chicago Bears

Forte
Brace Hemmelgarn-USA TODAY Sports

Forte has 903 rushing yards and only three lousy rushing touchdowns. You most likely drafted Forte in the 2nd round as your RB1 and although he has been steady at times, he's ranked 15th at the running back position. That will get you put on the naughty list.

3 of 21

19. TE Antonio Gates, San Diego Chargers

Gates
Christopher Hanewinckel-USA TODAY Sports

Gates has 479 receiving yards on 45 receptions this season. His lowest totals since his rookie season. He has scored five touchdowns, but hey guess what, those five are also a season low since his rookie season. Here's a bag of coal for your troubles, Mr. Gates.

4 of 21

18. RB Demarco Murray, Dallas Cowboys

Murray
Matthew Emmons-USA TODAY Sports

Ok, we understand Murray has scored three times in the past three weeks. However, his production prior to that, aside from the foot injury, was very poor this season. He has rushed for 547 yards, and has tallied four touchdowns. Murray doesn't even rank in the top 25 at the RB position. No eggnog for you, Demarco.

5 of 21

17. WR Dwayne Bowe, Kansas City Chiefs

Bowe
Jason Bridge-USA TODAY Sports

Officially shutdown for the rest of the season with a rib fracture, Bowe has been awfully naughty this year. He finishes his 2012 campaign with 801 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Bowe barely cracked the top 40 at his position and only tallied double digit fantasy points in 2 games this season. Gross.

6 of 21

16. RB Steven Jackson, St. Louis Rams

SJax
Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

Jackson has only rushed for 100+ yards twice this season. He has 909 rushing yards and three total touchdowns. Some will argue with this one, pointing out Jackson's production is up the past three weeks, but Santa checked his list twice. Through the first eleven weeks of football, Jackson tallied two measly touchdowns, and only recorded double-digit fantasy points in two of those eleven games.

7 of 21

15. WR Jordy Nelson, Green Bay Packers

Nelson
Raj Mehta-USA TODAY Sports

Not only has Nelson been absent for his owners through the important fantasy playoff weeks, but pretty much the whole season. Nelson has 658 receiving yards and six touchdowns, three of those TDs coming in Week 6 against the Houston Texans. After such a strong 2011 season, Nelson isn't even in the top 30 at his position.

8 of 21

14. RB Ahmad Bradshaw, New York Giants

Bradshaw
Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

Bradshaw has 869 rushing yards and five touchdowns. He's been AWOL for his owners in the playoff weeks. Bradshaw has put up 6 fantasy points or less in 8 games this season. How did that work out for you? Santa isn't happy about the disappearing act you pulled in Week 14 and 15, no gifts for you Ahmad.

9 of 21

13. RB Darren McFadden, Oakland Raiders

McFadden
Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Who would have guessed it would be another frustrating year for McFadden owners (strong sarcasm if you couldn't sense it). Run DMC missed four games this season, which is nothing new to him or his owners. Darren has rushed for a lousy 617 yards and has as many fumbles, as he does rushing touchdowns, with two.

10 of 21

12. QB Eli Manning, New York Giants

Eli
Josh D. Weiss-USA TODAY Sports

The forever ongoing debate of "is Eli Manning elite" will continue with his below average production this season. Eli has thrown for 3,590 yards and 20 touchdowns. His 84.0 QB rating is the lowest at has been since 2007 (73.9). Eli's 20 touchdowns can be considered a wash, since he has also turned the ball over 19 times. Manning has also gone four games without a single touchdown scored. Maybe Eli should look up to his older brother a little more, because he made the nice list. Eli gets NOTHING.

11 of 21

11. TE Vernon Davis, San Francisco 49ers

Davis
Derick E. Hingle-USA TODAY Sports

One of the first tight ends taken off the board, Davis has been a very bad boy this year. Vernon started the season like he was on top of a mountain, and then he slowly started to avalanche down that mountain. First three games Davis had four touchdown receptions. Since then, he has 1 measly touchdown and has only 39 receptions for 516 yards. He's barely cracking the Top 15 at his position. Oh, and he has 2 standard fantasy points the past four games. TWO POINTS. Vernon's house will be skipped this holiday.

12 of 21

10. WR Greg Jennings, Green Bay Packers

Jennings
Benny Sieu-USA TODAY Sports

Anybody else hold onto Jennings for eight weeks while he nursed a groin tear? I sure did and boy do I regret it. Jennings has 21 receptions for 201 yards and one touchdown. He's only played in six games this season, but most of us drafted him in the first or second round. I won't be mad when Jennings wakes up Christmas morning to an empty tree. He deserves it.

13 of 21

9. QB Phillip Rivers, San Diego Chargers

Rivers
Jake Roth-USA TODAY Sports

Remember when Rivers was actually valuable in fantasy football? There was a time when Rivers threw 4,000+ yards in four consecutive seasons. He has 3,290 for the 2012 season with 22 touchdowns. There's a problem though....Rivers has thrown 15 interceptions and has fumbled 13 times. I'm no math professor but that's 28 turnovers compared to 22 touchdowns. Rivers also not ranked in the Top 20 at QB.

14 of 21

8. RB LeSean McCoy, Philadelphia Eagles

McCoy
Derick E. Hingle-USA TODAY Sports

Considered one of the top backs going into the 2012 drafts, McCoy isn't even breaking the Top 20 at the running back position. He has rushed for 750 yards, caught 40 balls for 235 yards, and has two total touchdowns. Lowest totals he has posted since his rookie season, and he has also fumbled four times.

15 of 21

7. RB Ryan Matthews, San Diego Chargers

Matthews
John Rieger-USA TODAY Sports

If I was Santa, Matthews would be an automatic on the naughty list. Matthews is now shelved for the rest of the 2012 season, putting his owners out of their misery. 707 rushing yards and one lone rushing touchdown. Matthews has fumbled more times than scoring this season, and only reached double-digit fantasy points in one game this season. He was a complete bust in 2012.

16 of 21

6. RB Fred Jackson, Buffalo Bills

FJax
Timothy T. Ludwig-USA TODAY Spor

For the second year in a row Jackson has taken a trip to the IR. Officially shutdown for the rest of the 2012 season, Jackson finishes with a very mediocre 437 yards and four total touchdowns.

17 of 21

5. TE Jermichael Finley, Green Bay Packers

Finley
Raj Mehta-USA TODAY Sports

Finley is not only on Santa's naughty list, he's on the Packers naughty list as they have told him they do not want him back after the 2012 season is complete. He has 48 receptions for 525 yards and three touchdowns.

18 of 21

4. WR Larry Fitzgerald, Arizona Cardinals

Fitz
Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

Fitzgerald has 61 receptions for 674 receiving yards and four touchdowns. Larry has not performed this poorly since his rookie season back in 2004. You can blame it on the QB situation in Arizona, but Fitzgerald has disappointed his owners to the max this season. He wasn't worth that 1st round draft pick that's for sure.

19 of 21

3. QB Michael Vick, Philadelphia Eagles

Vick
Eric Hartline-USA TODAY Sports

After two consecutive seasons of 3,000+ passing yards, Vick hit a brick wall in 2012. Vick has 2,165 passing yards, 307 rushing yards, and 12 total touchdowns. Vick has turned the ball over an astonishing 19 times this season. Oh, and he was benched for Nick Foles. Santa does not take repeat offenders lightly.

20 of 21

2. RB Maurice Jones-Drew, Jacksonville Jaguars

MJD
Brett Davis-USA TODAY Sports

Jones-Drew has 414 rushing yards and one touchdown this season. And most of you drafted him late in the 1st round or 2nd round. MJD has not played a game since Week 7, and was doing little to nothing before his foot injury. Huge disappointment for all parties involved.

21 of 21

1. WR Hakeem Nicks, New York Giants

Nicks
Daniel Shirey-USA TODAY Sports

Scoring 18 touchdowns and tallying 2,244 receiving yards the past two seasons, Nicks was a hot commodity heading into the 2012 fantasy drafts. He missed three games this season, and has only 692 receiving yards and three lousy touchdowns. There are 49 other receivers in the NFL that have performed better than Nicks has this year.
